AJ McCarron gives a fan a ‘Roll Tide’ in the middle of a phone interview
Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron has worked hard to be just a regular guy while he’s on campus and part of being a regular guy is greeting the phrase “Roll Tide” with another “Roll Tide” - even while on the phone.
McCarron was walking to class while doing a phone interview with the Dan Patrick Show on Monday when a fan passed him and yelled, “Roll Tide!” Of course, McCarron said the phrase back, which prompted all sorts of laughter and jokes from Patrick.
“Wait, do you always have to say Roll Tide when somebody says that?” Patrick asked.
“Yeah,” McCarron said laughing. “It’s kind of a given here.”
Patrick then asked if McCarron would say “Roll Tide” during his wedding vows and McCarron said that wasn’t going to happen. But of course it will fuel all kinds of speculation and McCarron and Katherine Webb are getting hitched.
