Baby, you can park my car

For those of us who are parallel-parking challenged, and can't afford to shell out $70,000 clams for a car that can park itself, maybe you can give Ronny Wechselberger a call.

In April, the German driver set a Guinness World Record for the tightest parallel parking: Wechselberger slid his car into a space that was only 10 inches longer than his car.

Alas, Ronny's record was smashed in July by a driver in China who wedged his car into a space only 9 inches longer than the car. No word on whether either driver was able to actually get out of the parking space.

We apologize. An error has occurred. Please try again.

I know that is right you should do that and set a record as us truckers know most people in 4 wheelers need to learn to drive or take the side streets and get the hell out of our way

I need a job and am skilled at parallel parking. Rich people - you can save $70,000 and hire me to drive you. The only drawback is that I am an American. However, I can understand you if you say "Nordstroms" or "Macys" and can be available for work 7-24.

pfff, that aint parallel parking. its a POWER SLIDE, and a cheated one at that. take note of the dark road-lube they put in his path to help him do this. shouldnt be counted.

Yeah but the end result is still the car parallel parked. Someone else could set a record of "Tightest Parallel Parking Without Sliding" and that would be more impressive in a different way.

I noticed that as well, Romus. And I'd like to see him try this in an UN-controlled environment. Like any street in the world where other cards are allowed to drive. Doing this in a restricted area should discount it as well.
And isn't the key to successful parallel parking not only being able to get INTO the space, but also being able to get OUT of it again? Let's see him set the world record for THAT!

Hard on tires, too. Still, he got the car in there.

Your ads are too long, then a stupid intro with dumb music. You suck.

People who can't parallel park, should not be in possession of a driver's license!
      • mark 9 mths ago
Hans, would you be able to? then paste your video and lets break this record
      • flubadub 9 mths ago
If I could give you five thumbs up on this one, I would. But today, everyone qualifies for a high-school diploma, college degree, driver's license, and all the other things that used to be earned, but are now "rights."

Mark, I hate to ruin your ego, but I am probably a bit older than you, and I was a driving instructor for 22 years.

Also I can do it the proper way buy pulling forward and backing what he did i do not call fair
      • BHC Steve 9 mths ago
Oh boohoo. No one likes a crybaby.
      • Terry 9 mths ago
what do you mean by cry baby that makes no sence
    • Cat  •  9 mths ago
So, what happens when he goes to leave and those two cars are still parked there?
    • pbc  •  9 mths ago
I am impressed. I need at least 3 apaces.

Now show how to GO OUT of that spot, then I will be amazed!!!
    • noname  •  9 mths ago
Anyone who cannot parallel park is too stupid to be allowed to drive.
    • opinionated  •  9 mths ago
is a nice manuver, but,to call it parellel parking is just wrong. this is not something anyone can do on a city street while out doing your errends

This is considered trick driving, not technically parallel parking. I live in NYC and parking any car or truck into the smallest of spaces has become second nature for me. You can park any size car or truck into the smallest of spaces if you follow a few simple rules. It's NOT rocket science.

$70,000? A ford focus can park it self. Last time I checked, it doesn't top 30k lol

Wonder how they practice this...bring some traffic cones to a parking lot and practice until you get in without hitting them. Still, doing it in between real cars for the first time would be unnerving.
    • gunner  •  9 mths ago
o.k., now lets see him do it parking a tractor trailer combination. (and yes, i've done it.)
    • Hans Delbruck  •  9 mths ago
.."yes I'm gonna be a star"......
    • ROBERTS  •  9 mths ago
I wonder how many cars he wrecked (or, at least "bent") in the process?

This is called a "Blues Brothers" parking job - from the movie. A friend of mine did it once in real life, on the street during rush hour. He had a bit more space, but he was late for work and the only parking spot was on the opposite side of the street. He waited for enough traffic to clear, gunned it, swung his car 180, and slid right into the spot. He learned how to do it at stunt driving school and was driving a car that he had modified for both stunt and race car driving.

Agree with who have said: bet he can't get out of there so deftly!
