Aqib Talib misses White House visit after being shot

As gunshot wounds go, it seems Aqib Talib got lucky.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday morning that Talib needed only stitches to treat his leg wound, and that the bullet entered and exited his right leg without hitting any arteries or tearing any ligaments.

Talib was shot early Sunday morning outside Dallas strip club V Live. Talib went to high school in the area and spends time in the Dallas area in the offseason. Two other individuals were shot at the club.

While Talib didn't suffer a serious injury in the incident, Denver Broncos vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth tweeted on Sunday night that the cornerback would not be released from the hospital until Monday and would not be traveling to Washington with his teammates for the team's ceremonial trip to the White House in honor of  their Super Bowl title:

Talib told reporters last week that he'd gotten a $3,500 custom-made suit for the White House trip. Unless we find out in the coming hours Talib broke out of the hospital to make sure he could be with his teammates, he'll have to find another occasion to don the new threads.
