Marshawn Lynch will be holding out from Seahawks camp
Beast Mode is on hold. For now, Marshawn Lynch is in Holdout Mode.
Lynch's former teammate, Michael Robinson, broke the news on the NFL Network's "Inside Training Camp Live."
"Marshawn Lynch just called me, we just talked," Robinson said. "He said he will be holding out from training camp this year with the Seahawks."
The Seahawks recently gave large new deals to Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas, and clearly, Lynch believes he's deserving of a similar upgrade.

Lynch ranked sixth in the league last year in total yards and tied for first with Jamaal Charles in touchdowns. He's halfway through a four-year, $30 million deal and is slated to make $5 million in base salary this year, which ranks sixth among NFL running backs according to Spotrac. Sherman's new deal was for four years, $57.4 million, with $40 million guaranteed. Thomas' deal was four years, $40 million, with almost $28 million guaranteed.
Lynch has a right to feel he's as important to the offense as Thomas and Sherman are to the defense. Lynch has played three full seasons in Seattle and made three Pro Bowls. He has rushed for at least 1,200 yards with double-digit touchdowns each season for the Seahawks. Last year he rushed for 1,257 yards and a league-best 12 touchdowns, and Seattle won its first Super Bowl.
There were rumors this offseason that Lynch planned to hold out, but then he reported to the team's mandatory minicamp in June. Apparently, with some time to think since then, he has decided holding out of training camp is the best way to get the raise he wants.
