Roberto Luongo to don Johnny Canuck-themed Movember mask, complete with ‘mo’
Two years ago, Tim Thomas, notable wearer of lip fuzz, donned a special Movember-themed mask. He raffled off tickets through the Tim Thomas Foundation where the winner got to meet the then-Boston Bruins netminder and take home the mask.
Thomas's 2011 Stanley Cup Final counterpart, Roberto Luongo, will be sporting his own Movember-themed mask some time this month. It features the toque and beard famously worn by Johnny Canuck and also, of course, a mustache.
“It’s for Movember, so I am going to be auctioning it off the end of month,” Luongo said, joking that the moustache on the mask saves him from having to grow one himself.
“Just not sure when I am going to be using it yet. It’s going to be tough for it to get into the lineup the way the other mask is playing right now so we’ll see how it goes.”
The auction proceeds will benefit Movember.
Now if only we could get Luongo to star in the next Johnny Canuck video...
