At this business you buy it, you break it

If you’ve ever felt the need to take a baseball bat to a piece of technology, you might want to start looking into a visit to Boise. Idaho’s capital city is the home of a new business that provides just that opportunity. KBOI 2 News spoke with the establishment’s owner, Tom Farrenkopf, who says, “Here at Das Breakroom, our sole purpose is to provide a place for people to engage in recreational destruction. And what we mean by that is come in and break stuff.”

Mr. Farrenkopf, who destroys the idea that you need to dress like a businessman to be a businessman with his rad fauxhawk hairstyle and what appears to be a kilt, offers customers the ability to break pretty much whatever they’d like including dishes, appliances, furniture, and panes of glass.

Customer Lindsey Schultz told KBOI how cathartic it can be. After a frustrating week she headed over to Das Breakroom and, “broke an entire box of stuff, and 10 minutes later, I felt perfect, fine."

The store has happy hours before and after typical business hours. Its grand opening was on April 15, to coincide with a day of national frustration: Tax day.
