Driverless Office Car Could Add Hours of Work to Our Day

Have you ever gotten up early and, halfway through your first cup of coffee while crawling through mind-numbing traffic, thought to yourself, "I wish I could be working now! I'm wasting so much time on the way to the office ... driving!"

Well, lazy time-wasting commuters of the world, you're in luck. We can all give a slow round of applause to the design agency IDEO for suggesting the future "office on the go."

In a new design-concept video, they show us just how driverless cars have the potential to add two hours of "productivity" to our workday.

IDEO says that when driverless cars take over, our commutes will be boring, and a boring commute means that drivers can focus on tackling more interesting problems.

The WOW (Work on Wheels) pods will be able to transform into meeting spaces and connect with the nearby cars of co-workers so that you can get a jump-start on your morning meetings!

No day at the commuter office would be complete, though, without a happy hour. IDEO suggests that our driverless cars will be able to set the mood as we head to the bar, and they can make sure that we get home safely after sharing some libations with co-workers. That is, if we still feel like spending time with them after our commutes.
