It seems Alan Martin, of North Carolina, has no problem with the concept of carbo-loading.

He was one of the 1,000 people who purchased Olive Garden's "Never Ending Pasta Pass" back in September, and he has certainly taken advantage of the deal.

When the pass went on sale for $100, it was popular enough to sell out in 45 minutes. But Alan Martin made it his goal to get the most bang for his buck. Accordingly, he has been eating at Olive Garden twice a day, every day, for the six weeks since he purchased the pass. On Novenber 5th, Martin ate his 100th meal at his local Burlington, N.C., Olive Garden.

He will continue to eat there, twice a day, until the pass expires on Nov. 9.

Martin, who has saved all of his receipts, says he has received a whopping $1,510 worth of food so far.

His reason for the personal challenge seems simple: "I would love to be the person that ate the most of the 1,000 people. That would be a good contest to win.... Because that means I got the most value out of the card of anyone in the United States," he said.

The pasta pass is valid for all the pasta, salad, bread, and Coca-Cola drinks a person can consume during the seven-week period.

Olive Garden says that the pass is intended to make their guests feel like VIPs. Seeing a waitress that much in six weeks probably earns you that status, as well.
