Newest Cat Celebrity Hoping for World Domination
The relationship between cats and the Internet has stood the test of time, and it grows fonder by the minute. Just ask Grumpy Cat, Lil Bub, Maru, and Colonel Meow; they are just a few felines on the long list of Internet cat celebrities. And now that list just got a bit longer. Meet Napoleon, the Persian cat stealing hearts all over the Web for his creative photo shoots.
He can thank his owner, Jesus Segura, for the stardom. Segura, who formerly worked as a cameraman, was unemployed for a year when he opened his home to Napoleon. He filled his time posing the kitten in different setups using a green screen, tiny sets, and Photoshop. The results are pretty awesome, with scenes ranging from Napoleon in outer space to the kitty drowning his sorrows at a pub. Segura started an Indiegogo page to fund the production of things like calendars and postcards featuring Napoleon's popular snapshots.
The famous cat even has a stand-in stuffed animal that helps to set up the shots. But don't call Segura a stage parent, he only lets Napoleon pose for pictures for 15 minutes at a time. He has already raised more than his fundraising goal of $3,000, but if you'd still like to contribute to what Segura calls Napoleon's world domination, you only have until Oct. 31.
