Teen accused of graffiti allegedly tags the courtroom he’s being prosecuted in
A teenager accused of vandalism might have just gotten in even more trouble. As the Los Angeles Times reports, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department arrested 18-year-old Francisco Canseco on charges of graffiti vandalism of several locations, including inside the San Diego Superior Courthouse. The San Diego Superior Courthouse is a notable place for Mr. Canseco to have allegedly tagged, because it happens to be the very same place the Southern California teen was being prosecuted for acts of vandalism.
When fresh graffiti was found inside the courthouse, deputies used a graffiti tracking system to see if the artwork resembled any other tags they had previously catalogued. It turned out that the moniker left on the courthouse graffiti matched that of Mr. Canseco, a suspected prolific vandal, who was being prosecuted for previous acts of graffiti vandalism. KBPS writes that on Thursday, “sheriff's deputies searched Canseco's San Diego home and found graffiti-related evidence that linked the teen to the courthouse vandalism.” Mr. Canseco was rearrested and charged with five new felony counts of graffiti vandalism.
