Toppling a World-Record-Breaking Amount of Tiny Dominoes Takes a Lot of Patience
Remember painstakingly setting up Dominoes back in the day? Do you recall experiencing the sheer delight of knocking the first one over and seeing them all consecutively topple, following the somewhat intricate pattern you set up?
Well, Sinners Domino Entertainment from Germany has set multiple world records for this very activity in a variety of categories, such as Most Dominoes Toppled by a Group, Tallest Domino Structure, and Longest Time Continuous Domino Toppling.
In this video, the team goes for the Guinness World Record for the most mini-dominoes toppled, using a total of 2,000. This was achieved on the set of "Officially Amazing" (CBBC/Lion TV) at the Wilhelm-Lückert-Gymnasium in Büdingen, Germany, on July 12, 2013.
In comparison, a mini-domino is smaller than a coin, 80 times smaller than a regular domino and 100 times lighter.
During the complicated setup, members of the team use tweezers to place the pieces, strategically leaving gaps in the chain as to not prematurely knock the pieces down.
This was the group's second attempt at achieving the world record. While I felt a little thrill at seeing the result of their efforts, a part of me was hoping that this video about micro-dominoes was going to feature tiny pizzas.
