Pablo Solorio was shaken from bed by the sounds of shattered glass, then screams for help. The Salt Lake City, Utah resident said, "Got up right away. Youknow, so it was a little nerve-racking. I didn't know what was going on."
As reported by KSL TV, it was just after 6 a.m. and Pablo’s stepfather emerged from his room to find out what caused the commotion. He found a 20-year-old man, who was bleeding from crawling through a broken window. Apparently the young man, whose name has been withheld, jumped 5 feet into the air, shattered the window with his arm, pulled himself in and sustained a deep wound in the process. So when he wandered through the house pleading for help he left a trail of blood. Pablo’s stepfather took the intruder to the bathroom to help control the bleeding while Pablo’s girlfriend called authorities.
The invader had one of Pablo’s video game consoles in his hands but claimed that he was only running through the house to escape others who were chasing him. In an interesting twist to the story, Pablo actually knew the alleged burglar saying, "The funny thing is, like I met the kid the weekend before. You know, so he knew my name. He was like, 'Pablo, help me! Help me!'"
Salt Lake police detective Dennis McGowan told KSL that he thinks the intruder possibly cut an artery and said, "These people, they took pity on this person. They saw he was severely injured and they rendered aid. They helped him out, stopped the bleeding." The Salt Lake City man was taken to the hospital in critical condition and when he is released he will be arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
Pablo and his family were left to clean up the shards of glass and get rid of the blood stained carpet and furniture the intruder left. Despite all they went through Pablo’s reaction to the incident was quite calm, "He broke into our house. You know, made us go through a lot of anxiety. So, I don't know how to really feel about the whole situation." Quite an amazing family!
