What a ‘Catch!’ The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry Engaged To MLB Catcher

Talk about a great catch! The Band Perry's frontwoman, Kimberly Perry, has just said "yes" to her boyfriend, Toronto Blue Jays starting catcher J.P. Arencibia, who popped the big question on Monday.

According to the Tennessean, Arencibia, 27, planned an elaborate and romantic proposal for the 30-year-old country star with the help of her family. Perry apparently had always dreamed of a marriage proposal under a giant oak tree in her family's Greeneville, Tenn. yard. On Monday evening, Perry -- thinking she was going to dinner with her family -- walked out and saw Arencibia under the tree.

Perry's mom, who also knew that her daughter had said she wanted to be wearing a certain dress at the time of her proposal, sent Perry back inside to change. While locating the dress, Perry discovered a letter from her family and a gift: A bracelet that her grandfather had given her grandmother back when they were first dating. Perry put on her dress and the bracelet, went back out, and watched Arencibia go down on one knee.

Too romantic! Perry agrees. "It was perfect," she told the Tennessean.

Perry's ring is an emerald-cut diamond of approximately 3 carats. The couple plan to marry next summer.

Perry and Arencibia met in February 2012 at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fla. and began dating a few months later. She says that her pro baseball beau is special because he understands her busy and fast-paced schedule, and that he is "a really gentle soul" who offers balance in her life.

Congratulations Kimberly and J.P.!
