Garth Brooks Tells Fan To Kick Cancer in The Rear End

It’s been a big week for Garth Brooks, who's celebrating the release of his first studio album in 13 years this Tuesday. Brooks also has been ratcheting up his online presence, having established a brand-new Twitter account and the full version of his new music service, Ghost Tunes, which is being touted as an alternative to iTunes.

If all this weren't enough, he's also been hitting the road on tour, bringing his show to legions of adoring fans...including one very strong and special one in the Midwest.

Brooks performed this weekend in Minneapolis, where in the audience was Teresa Shaw, a 46-year-old mom of three who has been fighting cancer since June and had just reportedly undergone her 13th round of chemotherapy.

During the show, Shaw held up a sign with an eye-catching message: “Chemo this morning. Garth tonight. Enjoying The Dance" -- the final phrase, of course, referencing one of Brooks's most-beloved hits.

The sign caught the singer’s attention, and when he launched into that very hit, he walked over to the side of the stage to sing to Shaw. But that's not all. He kissed her on the forehead, gave her his guitar, and proclaimed the following:

"You have all my strength, you have everybody's strength in here, and you go kick cancer's a**!"

In case you were wondering why Shaw's condition apparently moved the superstar so deeply, Brooks has very personal ties to cancer. He lost both his mother and his sister to the disease.
