See It First! Kelleigh Bannen Debuts Lyric Video for 'You Are What You Love'

Ahhh, what we love about country girls! Country newcomer Kelleigh Bannen self-describes as the "girl next door," but adds the caveat, "if your next-door neighbor loves a good shot of whiskey, plays a mean classical violin, and prowls the stage like a woman on a mission."

Sound intriguing? That's a pretty good description of Bannen, and if you'd like to hear more about her, Yahoo Music is delighted to premiere her fun lyric video for the single "You Are What You Love."

As for the song itself, which is available here, Bannen notes, "I don't remember how the concept came to me, but at some point last fall I wrote that title down, and brought it into a writing session with [co-writers] Jaren Johnston and Jenn Schott. I was just sort of talking through some lyric ideas and Jaren suggested making the verses kind of 'spoken,'" she explains.

"The lyrics came pretty easily to us because there are just so many things that we love, we had an abundance to choose from. We all wanted it to be really carefree and fun. But I also love that there is a greater, perhaps subtle, message there, which is that you can be whoever you want to be based on what you love. You get to choose who and what you love, and make your life about that."

Bannen first made a splash on the charts with 2012's "Sorry on the Rocks," which notched on the Hot Country Songs lineup for that year.
