Taylor Swift Makes Surprise Visit to Fan's Bridal Shower

That crazy T. Swizzle is at it again. Taylor Swift hasn't recorded a video blog entry in two years, but she lifted her self-imposed moratorium after receiving an invitation from a fan to her wedding and bridal shower.

The resulting video made its way to the world via a post by the singer today on Facebook and Twitter. As Swift notes in the video blog, she couldn't make it to the actual wedding, but she's "never been to a bridal shower," so off she went.

The advantage of being Taylor Swift is not having to RSVP to bridal showers, so her appearance came as a surprise to the bride and her friends and family. "Gena has no idea that we're coming, none of her friends know we're coming, so we're going to go surprise her," Swift says.

As a gift to the bride-to-be, Swift brought a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies, along with her personal recipe. En route on her private jet, the singer narrated her journey in song, crooning, "Going to bridal shower, gonna wear pastel, gonna give her some presents."

After traveling by plane and limo to Columbus, Ohio, Swift swept in and was greeted with astonished hugs from the future bride and groom. At one point in the video, Gena marvels about how her phone and Twitter account are blowing up with the news of her special guest. "I've never had 125 texts before and 45 notifications on Twitter," she says.

The "Red" singer signs off her video with a special thank you. "Dearest Gena, thank you for inviting me to your bridal shower... and for inviting me into your life (since 2007!!!)" before unveiling a slide show of pictures featuring Swift posing with members of the wedding party set to — what else but — Swift's "Sweeter Than Fiction."

Swift fans greeted the vlog with mixed emotions. "Not sure if I should be insanely jealous or really happy and proud," wrote Charliee. Another fan was inspired. "Because of this, I swear to God when I get married someday, I must send the invitation to Taylor, no matter [if] she would come or not, I totally still want to express my feelings and appreciation for her music," wrote Alex Fung. "BTW — Congratulations to Gena and Bryan!"
