Photo Captures Whale Of A Tale In Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KSBW) -- During a Santa Cruz County Visitors Council photo shoot the group noticed some whales off the side of their boat.

All of a sudden, two huge jubilant whales breached the surface simultaneously within a few feet of a kayaker. Local photographer Paul Schraub snapped photos.

The kayaker, Alan Brady, said the whales were so close that he had to duck to keep one whale's tail from hitting him.

The shoreline behind the whales is Seabright State Beach in Santa Cruz. Council communications director Christina Glynn called it a once in a once-in-a-lifetime photo.
