A Frenchman claimed to be Hitler's son; that doesn't "reveal" anything except...that a Frenchman claimed to be Hitler's son.

he is what he is and the sad part about it is think about where we would be without war? you have to rid the world of bad people. stalin was worse than hitler, but no one barks about him either. look up stalin, he killed his own people and military for years on years . killed twice as many people as hitler and we kept him in office and did nothing. we should of took them all down and not support stalin

Interesting story. Hitler wanted to attend the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts but failed the exam. Had he been accepted, there may not have been a Third Reich.

Aren't they even going to attempt to find out who the original owners were? It's stolen merchandise! I don't care if you are a religious institution, that doesn't automatically give you the right to auction off other people's property and keep the proceeds.

This sort of shoddy writing shows how a myth can easily be cited as a "fact". "Hitler fathered a secret love child" is NOT a historical fact. Saying "Hitler MAY have fathered a secret love child" would be more accurate, but even that should still be clarified by stating that this is based on an unsubstantiated and unproven allegation by a deceased individual. I can't count how many students see something like this online (Hitler was gay, Hitler was Jewish, etc.) and then believe it as fact. They'll get hung up on trivial and untrue information like that and know nothing about relevant facts like how he rose to power, dismantled a democratic republic, etc.

The article doesn't state that the paintings were stolen. Yahoo just showed a photo of one that was. I'm sure Adolf was given plenty of paintings by admirers and others trying to curry favor. Knowing more about this psycopath's lovelife would be more interesting since historians have only been able to document two women that he had any sort of relationship with. Both were airheads and committed suicide due to him.
