  • Everything's bigger in Texas, even the gingerbread houses.

The good people from Guinness World Records certified that a gingerbread house created in Bryan, Texas, by the Traditions Club of Texas A&M is the world's largest at 39,201.8 cubic feet.

The previous record was set by a house constructed at Minnesota's Mall of America that measured about 36,000 cubic feet. Amateurs!

The new king of all edible homes was certified by Philip Robertson, adjudicator with Guinness World Records, on Saturday night. Robertson gave the creators credit for building the home outdoors amid the elements.

  • After the wedding’s over, it’s the photos that keep the memories of the day.

So imagine a couple’s devastation when one of the rolls of film sent to the photo lab of their big day went missing, at least temporarily. One photographer understood, and stepped in to help.

According to the CBS 13 in Sacramento, newlyweds Pam and Howard Waelder, who married about a week ago, couldn’t afford a photographer, so a friend took pictures with a film camera. Of the two rolls sent to the developer, only one came back.

The couple told their story to the local news to plead for the return of their lost pictures, perhaps mistakenly given to another customer.

Enter photographer Michael Hall. The Sacramento professional offered his services to the newlyweds to help them re-create their special day.

“Pretty horrible thing to have happen, to have half your wedding photos disappear,” Hall told CBS 13. He added he was able to help “make some lasting memories.”

The couple kissed for the camera, capturing a

  • Ukraine accuses Russia of invasion after aid convoy crosses border

By Dmitry Madorsky DONETSK-IZVARINO BORDER CROSSING Russia (Reuters) - Ukraine declared on Friday that Russia had launched a "direct invasion" of its territory after Moscow sent a convoy of aid trucks across the border into eastern Ukraine where pro-Russian rebels are fighting government forces. Moscow, which has thousands of troops close on the Russian side of the border, warned against any attempt to "disrupt" the convoy but did not specify what action it was prepared to take if Kiev's forces intervened. Kiev, for its part, said Ukrainian forces would not attack the convoy and had allowed it to pass to avoid "provocations". "Ukraine will liaise with the International Committee of the Red Cross so that we, Ukraine, are not involved in provocations (accusations) that we have been holding up or using force against the vehicles of so-called aid," he told journalists.

  • Abandoned Florida panther kitten gets new home in state park

By Barbara Liston ORLANDO Fla. (Reuters) - A rare Florida panther, found near death as a 1-pound newborn in January, bounded into its permanent new fenced home in a state park on Thursday, now a lively, nearly 50-pound kitten. "He's really a miracle cat," said Susan Strawbridge of the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. A critically endangered animal, only 100 to 180 Florida panthers are believed to be in existence. State biologists working at the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge in Naples stumbled by chance on the kitten that had been abandoned by its mother in her den, according to Karen Parker of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

In case you’re wondering, the same publication previously published on YouTube a hands-on review of an actual backplate for the 4.7-inch model, and has posted similar YouTube videos last year showing back shells for 2013 iPhones before they became official, so it has a pretty decent track record. FROM EARLIER: This is what the iPhone 6 might look like compared to Samsung’s iPhone 6 ‘killer’ According to the source, only a few such 5.5-inch iPhone 6 shells are available in the factory where the photo
