Real Sociedad player banks clearance attempt off his goalkeeper for a comical own goal

Real Sociedad did not have a good night in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semifinal against Barcelona. In the first half alone, Barca completed a whopping 467 passes to Sociedad's 78 and had 85 percent of possession with Sergio Busquets scoring in the 44th minute to put them up 1-0 at the Camp Nou. Then in the second half, something even worse happened.

Alexis got behind Sociedad's defenders to meet a perfect pass from Cesc Fabregas, but his ensuing shot hit the post and stayed in play. Sociedad's Gorka Urkola rushed his clearance attempt and ended up smashing it off goalkeeper Zubikarai for a bizarre own goal. Making it even more painful is the fact that Zubikarai was charged with the goal.

Barcelona now take a 2-0 lead into the second leg, but at least Real Sociedad can rest easy in knowing they won't concede a worse goal than that. Hopefully.

Now Zubikarai has something to replace this goal against Mallorca, also in the Copa del Rey, from a couple years ago in his nightmares...
