Thierry Henry grew up in a Paris suburb, spent the bulk of his career in London and three seasons in Barcelona, but it is his love for current home New York City that is depicted on a new tattoo design that takes up his entire left arm.

The Red Bulls striker has revealed a detailed sleeve design that features the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and a typical New York street scene.

Much like a Wayne Rooney hair transplant, it presumably it took many hours several sessions to complete.

Also thrown into the mix are an image of a baby on his forearm — presumably his daughter Tea — and an angel surrounded by stars at the top of his arm.

The 35-year-old World Cup winner had the artwork done at Bang Bang NYC, who have previously put permanent markings on Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Adele. None of whom have won a World Cup.
