Apple to announce iPad 3 on Wednesday, March 7

As expected, Apple has just confirmed that it will hold an event on Wednesday, March 7 — and we all know what that means. All signs point to an iPad 3 announcement, from earlier rumors to Apple's own invitation, which features the iPad's calendar app displaying the date of the event.

While we won't know the next generation iPad's exact feature set until Apple releases the news officially into the wild, the iPad 3 is widely expected to feature a higher resolution screen (to bring it up to par with the iPhone's Retina display), a boost in processing power, and possible support for 4G networks, like LTE.
