Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 revealed in futuristic debut trailer

If there's one thing Call of Duty fans have been missing out on since the very beginning of the storied franchise, it's a glimpse into the future. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was just revealed in a two minute long trailer, and the best word to describe it is indeed "futuristic." With weaponry ranging from walking robotic tanks, to quadrocopters equipped with mounted machine guns, the CoD franchise is taking a step past modern warfare and heading straight into the great unknown.

The first Black Ops title ventured into the lore behind Vietnam and the Cold War through the tortured memories of Sgt. Frank Woods. Well, the good soldier is back, and the year 2025 brings him into a world where combat is done by machines, with support from soldiers equipped with some very far-out weaponry.

The title is set to release on November 13, 2012, in keeping with Call of Duty's predictable fall release schedule. The game is being developed by Treyarch, the same studio responsible for the first Black Ops title, as well as Call of Duty: World at War, and Call of Duty 3.
