Dark Knight Rises speed paintings condense hours into minutes

The Dark Knight Rises is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and with its comic book roots, it should come as no surprise that there is plenty of fan art to celebrate its upcoming release. Here are a pair of amazing speed paintings that show both the primary vilain, Bane, and Batman himself, in all their gritty glory.

The first video shows YouTube user Eastfist creating a stunning 1-hour speed sketch of Bane, shrunken down into just 30 seconds of frantic mouse clicks. The second clip (below) is a 3-hour masterpiece by Duks, showing the titular Dark Knight in a very menacing pose. Both pieces were created with the help of Photoshop and, we imagine, lots of experience.

The Dark Knight Rises is the last in director Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed reboot of the Batman franchise. The film stars Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as primary antagonist Bane, and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 20.
