Ikea is going green in a bright new way

Ikea has long been known for its easy-to-assemble modern furniture and its Swedish meatballs, but the company is also pushing to establish itself as a leader for green living. The company announced that it plans to sell only LED lights by 2016, phasing out all its other bulbs in the next few years. It'll start the process by swapping more than 1 million of the light bulbs in its own stores for the more energy-efficient LEDs.

Ikea is also planning to make the greener lights available for a reasonable price. There are plenty of appliances and gadgets that are good for the planet and your wallet, and this move by Ikea to join their ranks is most welcome. Switching to LED lights is also one very easy way to help bring down your home energy costs.
