    Your news feed can now show the most recent status updates just like before

    When the Facebook news feed revamp was first announced, it caused a lot of confusion. At one point, you might have wondered what happened to a status update a friend just posted, only to find it buried under a pile of other ones Facebook thinks is most important to you. If you went from confused to downright annoyed at this change, you'll be glad to know that Facebook has recently added an option that lets you have your old, chronologically-ordered news feed back.

    Facebook Engineering Manager Mark Tonkelowit announced that you can now reorder the status updates in your news feed based on the time they were posted. Below your status update text box is the Sort pull-down menu where you can find the Recent Stories First option — click it to bid your current news feed arrangement farewell.

    Don't worry if you can't see this option yet — it'll be available to you as it rolls out to more accounts in the coming weeks. If the revamped news feed is merely one of your Facebook woes, however, you can try third-party fixes to address your other grievances such as the Chrome extension that nullifies the equally-disliked Ticker and even the Timeline.

      Did the government or some agency or bureau make Facebook change to this format to help them gather personal info in chronological order? Are they making money organizing this information for a particular use of some kind? What ever their reason, it is NOT USER FRIENDLY! The VAST MAJORITY of the facebook family does not like it at all. Please go back to the old format. Change is good sometimes, the is not one of those times. If you don't change back to the old page format FB stock will fall rapidly and that's the FACT JACK!

      I hate the ticker thing on the side that tells you what everyone has done and commented on...creepy. I wish you could get rid of it and personally I am using FB less because I know that EVERYONE can see my every move on it.

      It annoyed me to no end to log in the evening and see "Top Stories" of stuff I had read the day before, and "100+ new stories" buried somewhere under them. And to add insult to injury, as I'm scrolling down the myrad new posting, the page refreshes, and bumps me back to the top!

      I've noticed lots of my friends have quite using FB. They still have their accounts but they never get on. Why because FB keeps making it harder to navigate. Bunch of IT Geek engineers think everyone should know how to do everthing on a computer they know how to do.

      Thank you Facebook! Now, can you please let me see a list of all of the currently pending friend requests that I sent? I fat-fingered the "Add Friend" link in that stupid "People You May Know" box on the home page and it didn't ask me to confirm, it just said "Friend Request Sent". I didn't catch the name but I did notice we had no friends in common and I'm pretty sure it's someone I have no link to whatsoever. No idea who I sent that errant friend request to or why people I would have no reason to know show up in "People You May Know".
