Pureflame sets your walls on fire… safely

It's a modern-twist on the fireplace for cramped spaces

There's nothing more magical than a warm, crackling fire on a cold winter day. But for those of us living in cramped apartments, even an electric fireplace can take up too much space. The new Pureflame fireplace gives those of us with limited space a real option for replacing a traditional fireplace — it's essentially wall-mounted fire.

The Pureflame fireplace comes in a number of different styles to match your decor. Some have a more solid, more traditional look, but all are decidedly modern-looking. After all, it's fire that's on your wall.

The fireplace runs on an odorless ethanol biofuel. The fireplace burns cleanly and efficiently — it only gives off water vapor and carbon dioxide, with no smoke. One quart of the liquid fuel costs about $10 and burns for 2—5 hours.

I can just see it now. Bio fuel 10 bucks a guart. Coleman fuel 6 bucks a gallon. MMM heck what could be the the harm.

Is that what Coleman fuel costs now? I have a gallon we bought a few years ago with about a quart left in it and it still has the price tag...$3.49. We don`t use all that much fuel apparently cooking on the trail!!

It only gives off water vapor and carbon dioxide...LOL...wonder if it gives off enough carbon dioxide to make you think this is a neat idea?

Seriously, who did the marketing for this thing? Why would you say it's for small cramped spaces and put a picture of an open large room? CO2 - not for me.

That's not exactly what I would call a cramped space. My fireplace is in a room smaller than that one.

isn't co2 one of the green house gases that the un will be taxing you on.
      • jeff 3 mths ago

      • KeithT 3 mths ago

It puts off water vapor and carbon dioxide, curling up infront of the fire and getting sleepy, especially in the small apartments.... HMMM could it be enough to knock you out, and put you to sleep permanently.... I can see the headlines now....
    • Grim Reaper  •  3 mths ago
I have my 55" LED TV mounted on the wall like that. When I want a fire I just put a blu ray disc in that has video of real logs on fire.

Don't get Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide mixed up. Carbon Dioxide is what you breathe out and plants breathe in. Carbon Monoxide is what your car gives off and that's the one that will put you to sleep and kill you if you inhale too much too quickly.

I set one of my walls on fire once. Believe me -- it's overrated.

New York City mandates smoke alarms. If this thing catches on, the resultant noise....
