Target to sell high-end The Hunger Games collectibles

Despite the high price tags, these limited edition items will likely sell out quick

Blockbuster hit "The Hunger Games" is coming to DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download on August 18, but for true fans, just taking home the movie won't be enough. That's why Target will be selling a very small number of Hunger Games collectibles via their website to coincide with the movie's retail release.

Hunger Games aficionados will have three different items to lust after. At the most affordable level — $349 — you can purchase a replica leather jacket of the one worn by Katniss, the movie's heroine. You can buy a lithograph signed by Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson for $699, and if you're willing to spend a grand, you can get a 14-karat gold replica of the iconic Hunger Games mockingjay pin. Each item will be offered in a limited edition of 100 pieces.

If you're interested in picking up a piece of Hunger Games memorabilia, you'd better set your alarm. These items will go on sale at Target.com (you can't buy them in stores) at midnight on August 18, and because they're available in such limited quantities, they're likely to sell out very quickly, despite the price. After all, a $1,300 collector's edition of the game Resident Evil 6 that included a replica leather jacket sold out very quickly when it went up for sale in Japan.
