Wii U priced at $299, launching November 18 stateside

At Nintendo's Wii U event in Japan today, the company is finally raising the curtain on pricing and release dates for its next home console. The tablet-equipped system was expected to see a price between $250 and $300, and Nintendo hit the higher end of that range, pricing the base model of the console at $299.99.

The system will hit store shelves on November 18 in the U.S. with two different bundles. A white, 8GB version has taken the $299.99 price point. A black, 32GB deluxe version will also be offered for a slightly pricier $349.99.

Both systems will include one tablet controller and the system itself, but the deluxe set will also include storage stands for both the controller and the console. The pricier bundle will also include some exclusive digital content that will be detailed closer to the launch date.
