Lady Gaga made a dramatic entrance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival over the weekend, but not because of her sky-high heels or unusual accessories. The "Born This Way" singer actually stepped out in a conservative little black dress that bore a striking resemblance to one of Audrey Hepburn's in "Breakfast at Tiffany's."
Lady Gaga paired her dress with the telltale elbow-length black gloves and layered necklace. She wore oversize black sunglasses (even while backstage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas), and her hair was pulled back into a Hepburn-esque chignon.
She looked like a distinctly different Gaga when she hit the stage in "biker-style costuming" that included stiletto boots and a black leather jacket. The most noteworthy moment went far beyond wardrobe, when she paused during her 45-minute performance in order to pay tribute to Jamey Rodemeyer, a gay teen who committed suicide last week after having been bullied. "We lost a little monster this week," she told the crowd, before dedicating a performance of "Hair" to him. "I know it is a bit of a downer, but sometimes the right thing is more important than the music."
The iHeartRadio Music Festival also included Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, and others. Usher, who sang "Without You," will be reuniting with Lady Gaga for the upcoming "A Decade of Difference" concert celebrating former president Bill Clinton's charitable work. The two are slated to perform again on October 15, along with The Edge and Bono. Watch the concert live only on Yahoo!, starting at 7 p.m. PT.
