Paris Hilton poses for the camera after her boyfriend is injured skiing

One of the perks of having a birthday is getting to be the centre of attention – and that’s probably doubly true for Paris Hilton, who turned 32 on Feb. 17. So, when she and boyfriend River Viiperi went snowboarding the following day, she didn’t even let a little blood upstage her.

On Monday, Hilton posted a photo album that documents a nasty tumble that the 21-year-old Viiperi took on the slopes in Lake Tahoe, California, and the deep gash he suffered as a result. In the first shot, Viiperi is seen lying on a stretcher, and luckily he’s giving a thumbs-up to tell everyone he’s okay. But Hilton looks like she has other concerns, as she casually leans back on the emergency ski-doo in a bright yellow ski jacket with a fur trim hood and shades covering her eyes.

Her aloof attitude in the photo quickly went viral, and other photos in the album show the gruesome details of a ghastly cut on Viiperi’s left leg and the stitches he received afterwards. However, to Hilton’s defense, her beau seemed to be in good spirits the whole time. And she seemed more worried in her caption.

“Such a scary day on the slopes today. After seeing the gash on @RiverViiperi's leg, I almost passed out. I have never seen a cut that deep in my life. He is so brave, I can't even imagine the pain he went through today. :(” she wrote.

And according to Viiperi, Hilton is actually quite a caretaker.

“Back in Lalaland safe & sound thanks to my gorgeous blondie @ParisHilton always taking such good care of me,” he tweeted, adding that the stitches would last for 12 days.

But that doesn’t mean he’s slowing down – or that Hilton is letting him. The couple was seen shopping and going for ice cream in Malibu on Tuesday. Hilton led the way most of the time, while Viiperi and his crutches followed along.

At least shopping and ice cream-eating is a less extreme sport!
