This guy apparently likes California Chrome
ELMONT, N.Y. – In a sport dominated by big hats and colorful sports jackets, the winner on this day was neither a 'Dapper Dan' or an elegant lady. It was a fan of Triple Crown hopeful and Belmont Stakes favorite California Chrome – and he was dressed to sweat. But boy did he shine.
The fashion winner for the biggest day in the 'Sport of Kings' was a man dressed in chrome wearing a horse head. On the back of his shimmering suit was emblazoned "Cali Chrome." There's no doubting where his money will be in race No. 11 today at Belmont Park.
People lined up a dozen deep along the backyard area behind the grandstand to get a photo with this super fan of a horse who is hoping to break a 36-year Triple Crown drought. He posed dutifully, even as sweat obviously poured fourth from his neck onto his shirt.
When asked if he would make it throughout the day, he told Yahoo! Sports, “Yea, but it won't be pretty.”
Perhaps a Breathe Right strip will help.
