Ann Romney’s horse won’t win an Olympic medal

Ann Romney's horse Rafalca won't win a medal in the dressage competition at London's Olympic Games. But Romney, the wife of GOP candidate Mitt Romney, still praised her horse's "fabulous" performance.

"It was wonderful," Romney told the Associated Press' Nicole Winfield after watching her horse compete Tuesday in London. "She was elegant and consistent again. We just love her."

On Tuesday, Rafalca scored a 69.302 in her final performance—putting the 15-year-old mare out of medal contention. But Romney gave Rafalca and her rider, Jan Ebeling, a standing ovation and told the AP she's thinking of breeding the horse.

Romney is expected to head back to the United States in the coming days, amid speculation her husband is soon to announce a vice-presidential running mate.
