Bachmann wishes she had Googled Ed Rollins before hiring him

It's no secret Michele Bachmann's split with campaign manager Ed Rollins didn't exactly occur on pleasant terms. But the feud between the 2012 hopeful and her former top political adviser continues to escalate nearly two months after he exited the campaign.

In an interview with the New York Times, Bachmann was asked about Rollins' disparaging comments about her candidacy. Among other things, he publicly criticized her claim that HPV vaccine could cause "mental retardation" and told reporters she didn't have the ability to compete after the Iowa caucus.

Not surprisingly, Bachmann has been a bit displeased with Rollins, according to the Times' Trip Gabriel:

She said critical comments Mr. Rollins made to reporters after stepping aside were dismaying.

"When it comes to personnel issues, I act professionally and respectful of former employees," she said. "I just assume that's a two-way street. It's disappointing when it's not."

When it was pointed out that Mr. Rollins has a history of speaking sharply about candidates who once employed him, Mrs. Bachmann offered a tight smile. "I guess I should have done that Google search," she said.

Ouch. Of course, Rollins had a quick response. He snarkily told National Review's Robert Costa he should have done more research, too.

"Well, if I would have Googled her, I would have found out she had 6 chiefs of staff in 5 years," Rollins replied.
