Colin Powell sings a version of ‘Call Me Maybe’

Carly Rae Jepsen's infectious hit song "Call Me Maybe" just keeps spreading, with a host of celebrity renditions—including one from former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Powell did an a cappella version of the song on "CBS This Morning," with co-host Gayle King singing along, Politico reports.

The duo sing the well-known lines: "I just met you. And this is crazy. But here's my number. So call me maybe."

After the song finishes, Powell tells co-host Charlie Rose, "Charlie, it was a lock, it was a lock."

"I didn't stop it," a sheepish Rose replies.

Politico thinks this version ranks higher than the video mashup of President Barack Obama doing the song.

It also joins a growing list of parodies of the song, including ones from Jimmy Fallon with Jepsen using toy instruments, the Harvard baseball team, Miami Dolphins cheerleaders, Miss USA contestants (featuring Donald Trump), and Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. Bieber's version has gotten more than 42 million views on YouTube.
