North Carolina Democratic Rep. Mike McIntyre officially won re-election on Wednesday after a recount and GOP opponent David Rouzer's decision to concede.
"Now that the recount has been completed and the tally of votes is official, we can move forward satisfied that each vote was counted properly and accurately," Rouzer said in a statement. Rouzer had called for a recount under state law, citing voting machine irregularity.
North Carolina's 7th District race was the final outstanding 2012 Congressional race other than a December runoff between two Republican candidates in Louisiana.
The incoming 113th session of the House will now have 234 Republicans and 200 Democrats (and one vacancy for the seat formerly occupied by Democrat Jesse Jackson Jr. in Illinois). Democrats netted eight House seats on Nov. 6.
