By This is it — the week the Supreme Court of the United States will hand down its decisions on health care reform and the Arizona immigration law. In fact, both could come Monday.
The word "landmark" is accurate for the two decisions, but the health care ruling is the one that will greatly influence the presidential election. The Obama campaign, the Romney campaign, congressional Democrats, congressional Republicans and special interest groups already are loaded with reaction and spin for whatever the court decides.
President Barack Obama will be campaigning in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and it will be interesting to see if he has anything to say about Mitt Romney's who's who gathering of Republicans this past weekend in Park City, Utah.
Romney, meanwhile, will be in Arizona attending fundraisers.
Also worth noting: Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, and Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., both mentioned as possible Romney running mates, will headline a "Young Professionals for Romney" fundraiser in Washington, D.C., and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will be in Washington to attend a fundraiser for "ShePAC" - a super PAC that supports Republican women. It will be Rice's first Washington-area fundraiser of this election cycle.
And then there is this: Ten postal activists from across the nation begin a "Hunger Strike to Save the Postal Service" outside the Rayburn House Office Building. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, will mark the occasion with a press conference.
