Holder contempt vote expected, interest rate decision out of the Fed, plus more to watch for Wednesday in politics

Clearly a Tuesday evening meeting between Rep. Darrell Issa and Attorney General Eric Holder did not go well. Issa, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, came away saying he has no plans to delay a  vote Wednesday on whether to hold Holder in contempt. Issa wants Holder to turn over documents subpoenaed in the investigation of Operation Fast and Furious, a federal program that let U.S. guns end up in the hands of Mexican drug cartels. Issa and Holder had scheduled the meeting in the hopes of reaching an agreement.

There will be an announcement out of the Federal Reserve on Wednesday on whether further efforts are planned to stimulate the economy by driving long-term interest rates even lower. The interest rate decision will come at midday, and then Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke will hold a press conference. Whatever happens, look for Democrats and Republicans to put their spin on it.

Vice President Joe Biden will speak at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in New Orleans and then head to a campaign event in Carmel, Calif.

Mitt Romney will be in his home state of Michigan raising campaign dollars, and Sen. Marco Rubio, R- Fla., whom Romney says is being vetted as a possible running mate, will speak at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday evening.

And then there is this: Romney's sons -- Tagg, Matt, Josh, Ben and Craig — will appear on TBS' "Conan," the late night comedy talk show hosted by Conan O'Brien.
