John Edwards delays testimony in sex tape case

John Edwards will not have to testify in a civil case over a reported sex tape he made with his former mistress—at least for now.

A North Carolina judge today granted Edwards' request last week to postpone his testimony in the lawsuit, per the Associated Press.

Rielle Hunter, a former staffer with Edwards' 2008 presidential campaign who later gave birth to his child, is suing Andrew Young, a former top Edwards aide who initially pretended to be the father of her baby, claiming he stole the apparent sex tape.

Edwards successfully argued in favor of pushing back his testimony in the case until after his trial on charges he broke campaign laws trying to cover up his affair with Hunter.
