Jury finds Blagojevich guilty on 17 counts

A jury on Monday found former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich guilty on 17 counts including 11 related to attempting to sell or trade the Senate seat formerly held by Barack Obama.

Blagojevich was found not guilty of one count related to solicitation of a bribe and deadlocked on two additional counts, including extortion of former Rep. Rahm Emanuel.

This is the second trial for Blagojevich. His first trial ended last year with the jury convicting Blagojevich of lying to federal agents but deadlocked on 23 more serious charges.

Blagojevich made headlines during the trial when some previously unknown outrageous statements came to light, including his admission that he'd hoped to become a senator to personally hunt down Osama bin Laden.

UPDATE 3:50pm EST: Updated to correct breaking news reports of deadlocked charges, which include extortion of Rahm Emanuel.
