Mermaids at the Republican National Convention

TAMPA—The Mermaid Delegation made its presence known at a Republican National Convention after-party on Monday night.

While Republicans and journalists sipped top-shelf booze served from ice bars during a party at the Florida Aquarium, two women in bikini tops dressed as mermaids showed off their back-flip skills in a tank full of fish. On the dry side of the glass, the cheerleading squad from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roamed the affair, which was sponsored by the Distilled Spirits Council.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration insists that mermaids aren't real, but as you can see, the federal agency is obviously mistaken.
