Mitt Romney brings up President Obama’s ‘one-term’ comment in new video

With a clear lead in many early 2012 GOP primary polls, Mitt Romney is already running his campaign as if it were the general election, ignoring his Republican rivals in favor of taking on President Obama.

Case in point: A new video released by the Romney campaign is seeking to raise funds off President Obama's 2009 comments suggesting he'd have just one term in the White House if the economy didn't recover.

The ad, emailed to supporters Thursday per The Hill's Michael O'Brien, includes snippets of an interview Obama gave to NBC News in February 2009 acknowledging he would "be held accountable" if the economy didn't improve.

"I've got four years," Obama is shown saying in the video, as recent headlines about the nation's dismal economy flash on the screen. "If I don't have this done in three years, then there's going to be a one-term proposition."

Obama's comments in the ad are then followed up by a message declaring, "He's right."

You can watch the video below, per the Romney campaign:

This is the Romney campaign's fourth web ad in just over a week that targets Obama and his record.

As The Ticket previously reported, the former Massachusetts governor dinged Obama in a video last week for his comments describing recent jobless numbers as "bumps in the road." It was the subject of a follow-up video last Thursday. Today, the Romney campaign released another video slamming "Obama's misery index."
