By Mitt Romney will be in Los Angeles on Monday to address the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Annual National Convention and Business Expo. His speech launches a week in which campaign aides say he will provide voters with more details on what he would do as president. Aides also say he will seek to re-focus his campaign on his five-point economic plan.
President Barack Obama heads to Ohio on Monday where he, too, plans to focus on the economy. He'll emphasize a new trade enforcement case against China over allegedly improper subsidies to its auto and auto-parts sectors.
The question is: Will the Middle East let both candidates shift the focus back to the U.S. economy and jobs, or will it dominate the campaign the way it did last week?
Also worth noting Monday on the presidential campaign trail: Vice President Joe Biden begins a two-day campaign swing through Iowa; Paul Ryan also will be in Iowa campaigning; Sen. Jon McCain will be stumping for Romney in New Hampshire; Sen. Marco Rubio will campaign in Ohio for Romney; and Howard Dean will attend an Obama fundraiser in Massachusetts.
Meanwhile, First lady Michelle Obama will be on TV again to promote her "Let's Move!" initiative. This time she'll appear on CBS' "Rachael Ray."
In terms of history, Monday is the 225 anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution.
And then there is this: Monday also marks 50 days until the Nov. 6 presidential election.
