Obama back at the White House, Romney still vacationing, Biden works in a little campaigning, plus more to watch for Tuesday and Wednesday in politics

The nation's capitol and politics in general have entered July 4^th holiday mode.

President Barack Obama returns to the White House on Tuesday from his weekend break at Camp David and has no public events on his schedule, and Mitt Romney continues his weeklong family vacation in Wolfeboro, N.H.

Vice President Joe Biden is working in some politics with a holiday celebration on Tuesday. He returns to his hometown of Scranton, Pa., for an afternoon campaign event and then delivers remarks at a fireworks celebration at Courthouse Square in the evening. Pennsylvania, remember, is a battleground state.

Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will celebrate Independence Day by hosting military heroes and their families on Wednesday at the White House. There will be a barbeque, concert and a view of fireworks on the South Lawn.

Romney will mark the holiday by joining in the Wolfeboro Independence Day parade and then he'll resume the annual family vacation — and maybe more time zooming around Lake Winnipesaukee on a Jet Ski with his wife, Ann.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, known for his public health initiatives, will be on hand Tuesday to make remarks at the weigh-in for the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. The weigh-in for contestants will be at City Hall Park. The contest will take place Wednesday at Coney Island.

And then there is this: Malia Obama, one of the first daughters, turns 14 on Wednesday.
