Romney’s son stars in new Spanish-language TV ad

Mitt Romney is out with a new Spanish-language television ad starring his youngest son, Craig.

Speaking in Spanish, Craig Romney implores viewers to "get to know" his father and "listen to his ideas" as images of the candidate and his family appear on the screen.

"I want to tell you who my father is," Craig Romney says. "He is a man of great convictions. He's been married for over 40 years to my mom. Together they have five sons and 18 grandchildren. He loves our country greatly. What he has achieved has been through hard work—and it is with that same dedication that he will fight to get our country on the right track and create jobs."

The spot promotes a new Romney campaign site aimed at wooing Hispanic voters, JuntosConRomney.com, which translates into "United for Romney."

It's the second Spanish-language ad that Craig Romney has cut for his father, but it's the first time he's appeared on camera. In January, the youngest Romney son, who became fluent in Spanish while serving on a Mormon mission in Chile, narrated a Spanish-language ad that aired in Florida. He's often joined his father at events aimed at courting Latino voters, including the Hispanic Leadership Network conference in Miami in January, where he addressed attendees in Spanish.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found President Barack Obama with a major lead over Romney among Hispanic voters, 59 percent to 30 percent.
