Ron Paul backer runs ad seeking dirt on Rick Perry’s personal life

A Texas man who is backing Ron Paul in the Republican presidential race is soliciting dirt on Rick Perry's personal life by running an ad in an Austin newspaper.

"Have you ever had sex with Rick Perry?" reads a full page ad running in the Austin Chronicle, an alternative weekly. "Are you a stripper, an escort, or just a 'young hottie' impressed by an arrogant, entitled governor of Texas? Contact CASH, and we will help you publicize your direct dealings with a Christian-buzzwords-spouting, 'family values' hypocrite and fraud."

The ad, first reported by Salon's Justin Elliott, was paid for by Robert Morrow, an Austin "investor" who is backing Paul in the GOP primary and who launched CASH, which stands for "Committee Against Sexual Hypocrisy."

Morrow tells Elliott he's heard stories about Perry cavorting with strippers. But the ad also hints at rumors that have circulated that Perry cheated on his wife with a man—an allegation that has been strongly and repeatedly denied by the Texas governor and his wife, Anita.

"Note to gay people," the fine print on Morrow's ad reads. "If you know the truth about Rick, please QUIT covering for him."
