The Senate Intelligence Committee is expected to vote Tuesday on John Brennan's nomination to lead the CIA.
The vote would come after weeks of wrangling with the White House over access to top-secret information about the use of drone strikes against terror suspects and the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.
President Barack Obama will visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday and meet with members of the military who have been wounded. He also will meet with their families.
Obama will then head back to the White House for a meeting with Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel.
Also worth noting Tuesday: Secretary of State John Kerry wraps up his nine-country, 11-day overseas trip and heads back to Washington; the Senate Budget Committee will hold a hearing on reducing the deficit by closing tax code loopholes; and a group of Senate and House Democrats will introduce legislation to gradually raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour from its current $7.25.
And then there is this: The Secretary: A Journey with Hillary Clinton from Beirut to the Heart of American Power by BBC correspondent Kim Ghattas is out Wednesday. Ghattas was granted exclusive access to Clinton for the biography from the moment she agreed to take the position in November 2008 to her final day in the role last month.
