What to watch for Monday in politics

Just about everything that's happening in politics Monday has to do with what's coming up Tuesday. That's when Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri hold Republican caucuses.

Mitt Romney, coming off back-to-back wins in Nevada and Florida, has two rallies planned in Colorado (12:20 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. MST). Meanwhile, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will be campaigning for Romney in Edina, Minn.

Newt Gingrich, who vows to stay in the race all the way to the Republican convention in Tampa, also has two events planned in Colorado: a rally at 11:30 a.m. MST and then participation in an energy summit at 2 p.m. MST.

Ron Paul has two rallies in Minnesota on his schedule at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. CST, and Rick Santorum will be especially busy. He has two events planned in Minnesota at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. CST and then two in Colorado at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. MST. The Minnesota stops include a speech on health care in Rochester, Minn.

Buddy Roemer is still out there campaigning for the GOP nomination, and he has a radio interview scheduled on WENU at 12 p.m. CST. And Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party candidate, has an online town hall planned at 8 p.m. EST.

Also of note: Vice President Joe Biden is headed to Florida, a battleground state in the general election, to talk about college affordability.

And then there is this: Former lobbyist Jack Abramoff discusses "what's wrong with money in politics" at 1 p.m. at Public Citizen in Washington. Abramoff was released from prison in 2010 after serving three-and-a-half years of a 70-month sentence after pleading guilty to corruption and fraud.
