What to watch for this weekend in politics

The big game in politics this weekend is the Nevada Republican caucus. It's Saturday, and Mitt Romney, who won the caucus in 2008, is expected to win again. Romney won big in Florida on Tuesday, and he picked up Donald Trump's endorsement Thursday — although the political significance of that remains unclear.

Newt Gingrich is campaigning hard in Nevada, as is Ron Paul. Rick Santorum also has been on the stump in Nevada, but he is spending Friday in Missouri, which has a caucus next Tuesday. Santorum will be in Colorado Saturday, and Paul in Minnesota. Both of those states also have caucuses Tuesday.

President Obama heads back to Virginia on Friday to speak about the economy. This time he'll be at Fire Station No. 5 in Arlington at 11:25 a.m. EST. It's the second time in three days he has been to Virginia, a battleground state in the general election. On Wednesday he went to Falls Church to outline a plan for refinancing mortgages.

The U.S. unemployment rate will be announced at 8:30 a.m. EST Friday, and that is sure to be addressed by all four GOP candidates and certainly the White House.

And if you're seriously into politics, you might want to take note of this: Dan Quayle turns 65 Saturday.
