Wednesday in politics: Obama, Romney campaign hard, Trump’s big tweet, and more

Campaigning. Campaigning. Campaigning.

President Barack Obama will hit three states Wednesday—Iowa, Colorado and Nevada—and Vice President Joe Biden will spend the day in Ohio. Republican nominee Mitt Romney will campaign in Nevada and Iowa, and running mate Paul Ryan will speak on upward mobility in Ohio.

Romney surrogates will be busy, too. Sen. John McCain and Ann Romney will campaign in Florida; Tagg Romney will be in Virginia; and Sen. Rob Portman in Ohio.

Back in Washington, the Federal Reserve will have an announcement on whether it will take further action to boost the economy. What's expected? A continuation of the plan to buy mortgage bonds to make home buying more affordable and no change in keeping interest rates low.

And then there is this: Real estate mogul Donald Trump, who once flirted with making a bid for the White House, claims he has some "very, very big" news about Obama that could "possibly" affect the election. Whatever it is, he says he'll release it on Twitter @realDonaldTrump on Wednesday morning.

And this: Obama appears on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" at 11:30 p.m. EDT. It is Obama's fifth appearance on the show and his third since taking office.
